I’ve done 7 or 8 articles on biofuels and scientists/experts agree corn ethanol is no better than burning gasoline, and likely worse when it comes to carbon emissions. Ethanol is also heavily subsidized by taxpayers, a form of corporate welfare since most ethanol companies are very large and profitable corporations such as ADM.

Offshore drilling would be worse. Oil companies are also subsidized by taxpayers – yes indeed – tax breaks for exploration etc, etc. We need to leave fossil fuels in the ground until we figure out a way to deal with climate change.
