Red Craig, renewables are part of the solution but when combined with energy efficiency, it is certainly possible. There are many homes that don't need a cooling or heating source even in hot/cold regions. Why not give renewables and EE a serious try?

Kim, you're just repeating tired old lies about global warming. Sigh. Measurements clearly show the planet has warmed. It is a scientific fact that thousands of scientists around the world have MEASURED.

Solar activity DOES NOT account for this warming. This is yet another lie, please read this:

The only accurate historical records of climate change show solar activity to be the driving force behind temperature changes. As our planet has cooled over the last 10 years or so, reduced cosmic activity has been the reason. Why is that so complicated?

I think the reason we North Americans aren't dealing with the problem is that everyone appraises the issue through his own selfish perspective. People who love their motorhomes or SUV's expect a solution that allows them to keep their toys. People who own houses the size of hotels or who take annual vacation trips to other continents expect solutions that don't require giving anything up. Right-wing ideologues choose simply to pretend climate change isn't happening, or isn't caused by CO2 emissions. Left-wing ideologues like Scheer and Suzuki refuse to face the limitations of renewable energy sources because their commitments don't allow for limitations.

The issue will only be addressed when most people are willing to look at the facts as they are and give up self-serving pretenses.
